The National Theatre of Scotland is marking Scotland’s Year of Young People in 2018 by staging a major new festival of international performing arts, created by young people working alongside renowned Scottish, British and international theatre practitioners.
Ten leading UK and international companies and artists, specialising in daring new work targeted at young people, will embed themselves in ten communities around the country, working with local young groups to co-create, design, develop and stage a piece of performance.
Ten productions will take place in cities and locations across Scotland as part of the FUTUREPROOF festival in September and October 2018. The productions will be unique to their location, sharing the experience of their young people and celebrating the sparking creative energy of youth.
Are you 14-26 years old and interested in theatre, inventing, magic and performing?
The National Theatre of Scotland would like to invite you to participate in a large scale street performance in Aberdeen as part of the Scotland-wide FUTUREPROOF festival in October 2018.
Internationally acclaimed Russian theatre company AHKE will work with young people in Aberdeen and together create a new piece of theatre inspired by the inventions of Alexander Bell.
Expect to see pyramidal kites flying over the city, illusions made with light, sound and speed and an opportunity for you to ‘reWIND perspective’.
If you’re interested in being involved sign up to the week of experimenting and development in the Easter holidays! For more information please visit the National Theatre of Scotland and EventScotland websites.
Wednesday 4th April – Sunday 8th April
The final rehearsals will be held in the October break with the final performances on the 20th and 21st October.
