Aberdeen International Youth Festival

Posted on Posted in Events

The 46th Aberdeen International Youth Festival gets underway this summer, with a focus on the younger generation. To tie in with the Year of Young People 2018 the multi-arts festival will welcome people from home and abroad.

In 2018, expect groups from the Philippines, Russia, the USA, Australia, Canada, Italy, Ukraine, Burundi, Jordan, China and South Africa, as well as from right across the United Kingdom.

The performers are young artists and groups but the festival encourages audiences of all ages to come and enjoy a programme of full-scale orchestras, choirs, jazz bands, solo traditional musicians, contemporary dance, new theatre and much more. The Extended Festival programme takes shows outside the city, to towns and villages across the north east, with performances in churches, town halls and community venues.
